Personal Response Systems (PRS) Demo

All faculty are invited to participate in a demonstration of the technology that has changed Chem 001 forever. Properly employed this technology encourages student engagement, increases course retention and provides timely assessment of student learning.

What is this PRS system? Introducing TurningPoint® by Turning Technologies, LLC. TurningPoint is a Personal Response System consisting of Microsoft Office Suite® compatible software and wireless transmitters (keypads). The software, which can be fully integrated with MS PowerPoint®, enables the instructor to create student interaction sessions such as a quiz or open Q&A. Students use the keypads to wirelessly transmit responses. The software records individual results and tallies responses. The results can be converted to graphical data which the instructor can present to the class and also integrate into an excel format for uploading into Blackboard®.

The PRS system gives the instructor a powerful assessment tool as well as a tool that positively impacts student attention and retention of the course material.
