The Missouri University of Science & Technology(Missouri S&T) Honors Academy offers students the opportunity to be a part of a community of outstanding scholars who are seeking an enhanced educational experience. This program is designed to instill honors habits to explore ways to search for answers beyond the norm of course syllabi descriptions. The rewards are earning the distinction of "Honor's Academy Fellow" at graduation, which is noted on the diploma, transcript and commencement program.

At Missouri S&T, Honors Academy students are recognized for their academic excellence and are provided with individualized attention and opportunities to establish leadership development skills, interact with faculty members and participate in special projects including service learning, undergraduate research and other beneficial experiences.

Eligibility Requirements

Incoming freshmen are eligible to apply if:

1) Their ACT score is a 29 or higher/SAT is 1440 or above, &
2) They rank in the top 10% of their high school class or have a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Incoming transfer students and students currently enrolled at Missouri S&T are eligible to apply if:

1) They have a minimum GPA of 3.5, &
2) A minimum of 24 graded, college-level credits.

Transfer students are allowed to transfer a maximum of 6 hours of Honors credit from their transfer institution. At least 50% of honors credit must be Missouri S&T coursework.

Honor's Study Abroad Scholarship

As a firm commitment to enhancing the international competence of Missouri S&T Honors Academy students, the Honors Academy offers a Study Abroad matching scholarship. Any active Honors Academy student receiving a Missouri S&T Study Abroad scholarship in conjunction with a Missouri S&T affiliated program is eligible to apply.

Honors Coursework

Honors Academy students participate in New Student Honors Seminar their first year at Missouri S&T. Following their first year, Honors Academy students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 and enroll in and complete 15 total credit hours of "Honors" course work.

Honor's Distinctions

Honors Academy students who graduate with a 3.5 GPA or better and have at least 15 credit hours of "Honors" course credits, will earn the distinction of "Honors Academy Fellow" at graduation. This distinction will be noted on their diploma, transcript and commencement program.
