The Missouri S&T Honors Academy offers students the opportunity to be a part of a community of outstanding scholars who are seeking an enhanced educational experience. This program is designed to instill honors habits to explore ways to search for answers beyond the norm of course syllabi descriptions. The rewards are earning the distinction of "Honors Academy Fellow" at graduation, which is noted on the diploma, transcript and commencement program.
At Missouri S&T, Honors Academy students are recognized for their academic excellence and are provided with individualized attention and opportunities to establish leadership development skills, interact with faculty members and participate in special projects including service learning, undergraduate research and other beneficial experiences.
Eligibility Requirements
Incoming freshmen are eligible to apply if:
1) Their ACT score is a 29 or higher/SAT is 1440 or above, &
2) They rank in the top 10% of their high school class or have a minimum GPA of 3.5.
Incoming transfer students and students currently enrolled at Missouri S&T are eligible to apply if:
1) They have a minimum GPA of 3.5, &
2) A minimum of 24 graded, college-level credits.
Transfer students are allowed to transfer a maximum of 6 hours of Honors credit from their transfer institution. At least 50% of honors credit must be Missouri S&T coursework.
New Student Honors Seminar:
New student Honors Seminar provides participating students an opportunity to meet the distinguised teaching professors, an introduction to research opportunities at Missouri S&T, and the opportunity to attend the leadership development conference and presentations by invited speakers.In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in social activities with faculty members and other Honors Academy scholars. To participate in Honors Academy, students must attend New Student Honors Seminar their first year at Missouri S&T. To participate, students must enroll for "HONORS SEMINAR" during their PRO session. (Transfer students may join New Student Honors Seminar during either the Fall or Spring semester.)
Honors Academy (Sophomore to Senior Years)
Following their first year, Honors Academy students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 to continue their participation in the program. Honors Academy students will enroll in and complete 12 hours of "Honors" coursework.

Honors Study Abroad Scholarship
As a firm commitment to enhancing the international competence of Missouri S&T Honors Academy students, the Honors Academy offers a Study Abroad matching scholarship. Any active Honors Academy student receiving a Missouri S&T Study Abroad scholarship in conjunction with a Missouri S&T affiliated program is eligible to apply.
