All Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.[Those
planning to attend the keynote luncheon at 12:00 noon should RSVP to
gillman@mst.edu by April 1, 2008.] Registration
The research conference will include an oral and poster session. Each
session will be divided into the following categories: Oral Session Categories | Poster Session Categories | 1. Engineering 2. Humanities/ Social Sciences 3. Management & Information
Systems 4. Natural Sciences |

Awards Ceremony: Missouri S&T faculty will serve as judges for this event. The
judging criteria for the oral and poster sessions are included below. A campus awards ceremony will be held at 4:00 PM in the St. Pat’s Ballroom
of the Havener Center. First ($750), second ($500) and third ($250) place
prizes may be awarded in each category. * Please note: Not all
awards will be made in each research category. Additional Awards Abstracts: - ALL ENTRIES MUST INCLUDE A DESCRIPTIVE ABSTRACT.
- Abstracts must include a minimum of 75, and a maximum of 150 words.
All abstracts must be submitted electronically using the required
abstract template.

- Abstract documents must be titled using the student’s last name and first
initial. (Example: MinerJ-abstract.doc)
Oral Presentations: - Students participating in the oral session are required to submit an
abstract and a research paper to complete their conference
registration.
- Each student will have a 30 minute time slot. Students are limited to 15
minutes for their oral presentations and 5-10 minutes for questions and
discussion. The remaining time will be available for wrap-up and transition.
Audio-visual equipment (including a microphone and projector) will be
available, if needed.

Poster Presentations: - Students participating in the poster session are required to submit an
abstract (in the required format) to complete their conference
registration.
- Students participating in the poster session are required to present a
poster on the day of the research conference.
- Students giving poster presentations must be present at the location of
their poster for an assigned time period. During this time, students will be
required to give a brief presentation on their research poster and answer
questions from the judges and conference attendees.

ADDITIONAL AWARDS Best Bibliography Award The Best Bibliography Award ($250) will be judged by the Curtis Laws Wilson
Library. This award may be given in each of the four oral session

Bibliography Tech Transfer and Economic Development Undergraduate Research
Award Sponsored by the Office of Tech Transfer and Economic Development This award was created to encourage Missouri S&T students to participate
in undergraduate research. Each year the Tech Transfer and Economic
Development Research Award is presented to undergraduate students judged to
have demonstrated that their research results in new advances in technology and
promotes science and the useful arts. Award Description

The registration deadline is March 16,
2008.
Students must submit their on-line registration form and supporting materials,
(including abstracts and research papers),
no later than 11:59 PM on March 16, 2008. Materials will not be accepted after this date. If you have questions, about the registration process, please
